ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Forest School Lead’s help to create a safe, educational and fun environment for the children in our care. Helping to supervise children and ensuring their safety, organizing and taking part in activities, such as games, crafts, and educational tasks. The list is endless, but you’ll understand that some days might be challenging, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our children at one of the most important development stages of their life

Tops Newport Nursery is a 92 place Day Nursery & Pre-School situated in Isle of Wight, Newport. The nursery run several extra-curricular activities including Before and after school clubs, Forest School, cooking school, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing, football fun and much more We’re rated 9.6 by daynurseries.co.uk and graded OUTSTANDING by OFSTED.

ABOUT YOU

A minimum Level 3 in Early Years is required. Level 3 Forest School trained is desirable.

Some of the primary skills we are looking for will be someone will include;

Lead and manage the staff team and share knowledge on Forest School Plan, prepare and deliver a range of Forest School sessions Contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children and the Early Years Framework. Using the EY Log to maintain learning journeys, next steps and observations and to regularly monitor all children’s learning journeys. Understand key children’s culture, first language and current development plans to identify areas for improvement, working with colleagues to provide a stimulating environment for children to meet emotional, intellectual and social goals. Maintaining accurate records of children’s development and use information learnt to support future planning, development and learning.
