As an experiencedprocurement professional, you will thrive in a busy commercial environment.You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal stakeholders andsuppliers to drive procurement excellence at every stage of theprocess.

Reporting directly to the Procurement Lead, you’ll be part ofthe successful delivery of the overall procurement strategy forDrax. 

Day-to-day you'll be responsiblefor all aspects of the Source to Contract cycle across our ProfessionalServices suppliers including the well-known consultancy firms. Spend inthis category is likely to be more than £25m and is both broad and deep, which presentsa unique opportunity to work closely with Drax senior leaders and ExCom whosponsor a number of these important supplier relationships. As well as the bigfirms the category includes IT professional services, specialist consultancyoften with niche firms, individuals or academic organisations and a number of criticalbusiness services.

You’ll play a key role in thedevelopment and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise value whilstensuring the right level of governance is applied. You’ll also provide day today procurement guidance and advice to other team members.

Building new relationships andworking with a wide range of internal customers will be the key to success inthis role. You’ll work closely with the wider procurement team, to ensurecontinuous improvement and best practice is shared throughout the team tooptimise performance

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll already have strong technical procurement skills linked with an abilityto drive best practice. Ideally, you’ll also have experience in creating andexecuting a successful category strategy for professional services in acomplex, global, multisite organisation.

You’ll also demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and negotiationskills, and the ability to implement opportunities for innovation. You’ll becomfortable proactively challenging stakeholders (even the senior ones), whileproviding a prompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers atall levels. This is imperative, to ensure that customer needs are met, andproductive relationships are built and maintained. You should also be effectivein ensuring departmental policies and processes are communicated andfollowed.

It is key that you’re a self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who hasthe energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to workcollaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability toidentify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workloadeffectively is essential.

If you have CIPS/Project Management qualification that's great,however if you have demonstrable experience and strong performance in asimilar role, we'd still love to hear from you
