Job Description

To plan wireless and fixed-line telecommunication sites across multiple projects whilst managing the planning applications and notifications to all Planning authorities in line with ULC procedures. 

  • Support daily design activity
  • Instruct and manage planning subcontractors on high volume submissions to ensure compliance with ULC exemplar planning process
  • Develop creative and original planning solutions 
  • Ensure all designs meet the required standards and specifications
  • Prepare, submit and monitor planning applications and notifications to Local Planning Authorities 
  • Manage Planning Appeal work 
  • Advise the Project Team on planning issues
  • Work with the delivery team to ensure successful build completion and precise as-built records.
  • Maintain site files and information to a high standard
  • Deliver projects to budgets and within set SLAs
  • Act as community liaison on planning matters on behalf of ULC where necessary and possibly attend public meetings
  • Act as point of contact for general enquiries on planning matters within ULC
  • Promote environmental education and awareness
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Computer literate, including software packages such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and AutoCAD
  • Able to record detail & complete documentation manually & electronically.
  • Good communicator & well organised.
  • Experience working in a planning or design based role within the telecoms industry
  • Knowledge of FTTP networks. 
  • Experience surveying and planning within the PIA network.
  • Preferred applicants would have experience working on VMo2 network and using GComms
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Organised
  • Time management / ability to work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-Solving skills, and positive outlook
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to develop, establish and maintain internal relationships
