We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Maintenance Planner to join our engineering and maintenance team at our Linford Block Plant, which is located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The site is easily accessible from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay, Dagenham, Erith, Barking, Wanstead, Walthamstow, Woolwich, Greenwich, Dartford, Sidcup, London, Bromley, Sevenoaks, Chingford, Waltham Cross, Hackney and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

You as the Engineering Maintenance Planner will be responsible for adopting and deploying mechanical planning methods in line with our Maintenance Strategy and to utilise our CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System), to develop WO (Work Order) task steps, estimate resource requirements and assign required equipment/materials/spares necessary to enable efficient and safe maintenance activities to be completed in line with company and technical standards. You will support an inclusive culture where people are treated with dignity and respect.

The Maintenance Planner will plan and make arrangements for the safe completion of engineering and maintenance tasks ensuring they are carried out to a pre-determined standard.

Your responsibilities as the Engineering Maintenance Planner will include (not exhaustive):

Monitor and maximise productivity of processes, making cost effective use of resources, products and equipment Develop Planned Maintenance and Lubrication schedules with the Engineering Manager and Mechanical Inspector Ensure that all necessary materials, spares and tools are available in designated locations for planned operations which meet the required quantity and quality expected and minimise execution resource deployment to stores/workshops etc Define estimated task duration and costs for all work orders and develop detailed job plans to help optimising resources deployment and support monthly spend analysis Formalise and update: Detailed WO job-plans for major maintenance operations and shut-downs Maintenance Outage Plans and Technical Documentation Records and statistics Maintain and update information and data in the CMMS ensuring the Maintenance Workflow is adhered to Plan major equipment annual overhauls and adhere to annual maintenance outage plans Create shutdown programmes including financial detail and support shutdown management and Contractor supervision during major repair periods Produce tender specifications in line with Tarmac standards for engineering services and spares Manage general and specific technical documentation in the technical library, equipment codification and records to ensure historical data is available Maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors Manage and develop third party relationships, ensuring effective service contracts are in place and demonstrate best value

Site operations are days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant in the role of Engineering Maintenance Planner will be instrumental in the future development and support of the engineering culture to achieve the benefits available through our continuous improvement strategy. You will have experience as in Engineering (Supervisor or Planner) / Maintenance (Supervisor or Planner) within a similar heavy manufacturing industry, this is essential.

Engineering Maintenance Planner - Qualifications/Requirements/Capabilities:

ESSENTIAL - Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems knowledge, with an understanding of electrical systems HNC/HND in a role related discipline along with a recognised apprenticeship or BEng would prove highly beneficial Technical knowledge of preventive, predictive and systematic maintenance (databases, CMMS, Project Software) Computer literate - Strong SAP knowledge and CMMS and familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc) NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely is desirable Good communication skills, with a positive, proactive can - do attitude to your team and others
