Senior SAP Payroll Administrator

Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking an experienced Senior SAP Payroll Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations, and resolving routine and complex payroll issues. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of SAP payroll systems, an understanding of payroll compliance, and the ability to interpret and apply legal regulations, particularly in relation to garnishments.
What you will do:
- Payroll Processing: Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, wages, and other forms of compensation.
- Compliance & Legal Interpretation: Interpret and apply legal matters related to garnishment laws and payroll regulations, ensuring all payroll processes are compliant with local, state, and federal laws. Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve routine payroll issues, escalating more complex problems to higher management when necessary.
- Data Management & Reporting: Extract, analyse, and prepare reports and spreadsheets from various software applications and payroll systems for internal and external use.
- Collaboration & Communication: Serve as the key contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, vendors, and agencies, communicating professionally and maintaining confidentiality.
- Confidentiality & Professionalism: Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring that employee privacy is protected.
- Payroll System Expertise: Utilize SAP and Velocity payroll systems efficiently to process payroll, ensure compliance, and generate accurate reports.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes by identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy enhancements.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with demonstrated experience using SAP payroll systems.
- SAP payroll certification or relevant SAP experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Velocity payroll systems is a strong advantage.
- Extensive experience in payroll processing and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and garnishment laws.
- Strong understanding of accounting methods, procedures, and general accounting practices as they relate to payroll.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and correct payroll discrepancies.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive payroll matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience preparing detailed payroll reports and spreadsheets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
