Overall Position Summary andObjectives

Under this task order theScientific Program Analyst (SPA) will carry out administrativeduties and scientific analyses in support of Program Directors. TheExtramural Research Program awards grants to academic andbiotechnology communities to carry out basic and applied researchin Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases.

• Researches and evaluates the operation of theorganizations scientific programs.
• Researchesinterprets and summarizes background materials from a variety ofscientific sources.
• Compiles data and createsand prepares graphs slides and presentations.
• Performs logistical planning of various scientificmeetings lectures workshops.
• Plans organizesand participates at a senior level in technical meetings andconsultations.
• Reviews and evaluates theperformance of the organization.

Deliverables

• Work products and documents related to mining NIHdatabases to conduct analyses of NIHsponsored research activitiesand output; coordinate updates of programmatic websites. Biweekly
• Work products and documents related toevaluating the main scientific content of new grant applications tofacilitate their assignment; perform portfolio analyses scientificcategorization and reporting. Weekly
• Workproducts and documents related to logistical support includingmeeting minutes activity reports budget documents and scientificmeeting/workshoprelated documents. Daily
• Workproducts and documents related to specific scientific oradministrative tasks and data analysis as requested by the DDEMDprogram staff; implement organizational priorities.Daily
