Working Hours - full and part time hours available
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide comprehensive clerical/administrative support to the Community Midwife and antenatal outpatients department within the Women and Children's Directorate, using a high level of initiative and discretion.
The post-holder will work as part of the clerical team participating in a full range of clerical and administrative duties in the hospital and community setting. In addition, they will be expected to provide administrative support to the maternity managers. This role includes early, late and weekend shifts
The successful candidate must be able to work using their own initiative, and also as part of a busy team.
Candidates must be flexible to help us achieve a safe, kind and effective service.
Main duties of the job
To take receipt of all referrals and to check and verify accuracy of GP and patient details. To log all referral letters, ensure initial registration of all new patients and to allocate to an appropriate hold queue. In line with relevant appointment procedures for example, partial booking, to make all new outpatient appointments. To ensure that all rapid access referrals are allocated an appointment within the specified timescales. To regularly validate partial booking hold queues. To notify the Service Manager where appointments are not available within waiting lists targets. To deal with general enquiries in a helpful and professional manner. Print EPAU list on a daily basis and follow up as necessary. Assist the Community Midwife clerks with their administrative duties.

The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
