Health Care Support Worker - Band 3

Melksham and BOA Community Team

Hours per week - Permanent

We are looking for a dynamic person to work within amulti-disciplinary team in a community setting, providing support, care andtreatment to individuals in their own homes. This service is provided betweenthe hours of and over 7 days per week. There is a requirementto work shifts and weekends. Core shifts are to You will needto work approximately 1 in 4 weekends.

Main duties of the job

Youwill interact with all members of nursing, therapy, medical and other alliedprofessionals related to the community team. You will be required tocommunicate with team members, patients and carers.

Yourrole will be diverse: end of life care, active patient treatment andrehabilitation. You will have training to enable you to increase your skillsand become a valued member of the team. Training will include Tissue Viability,moving and handling, rehabilitation, venepuncture and many other skills.

The successful candidate should have 12 months experience of working in a caresetting, have their NVQ3 or equivalent and be capable of working underdistanced supervision.

Qualifications

Essential

Good general education. NVQ Level 3 in health care or willingness to achieve. Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to undertake).

Additional Criteria

Essential

Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working under distanced supervision. Experience of supporting other workers.

Desirable

Experience of community working Experience of the NHS.
