Diagnostic networks are an advocate in creating an environment to support all our staff to develop and grow, share skills and knowledge, embrace innovation, deliver excellence and value within our procurement activities and has the ambition to become a world class procurement function of the future.

You will provide procurement expertise to a range of stakeholders, deliver successful contracts and pro-actively manage review supplier base. You will also support and scope new opportunities to deliver cost and value benefits across the network's portfolio.

You will attend, participate and present at various events, representing the procurement domain and the relevant network therefore need to travel around the East of England.

You will have a background in procurement or contracting, relevant qualifications or substantial experience, however, for the right candidate we would consider this as a development role depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

Leading and managing a portfolio of contracts and projects, ensuring the procurement of all goods and services is in accordance with the individual trusts Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders and public procurement legislation and represents best value for money and is governed by appropriate contractual terms.Assisting the Network Procurement Lead by providing leadership and management for contract negotiations and ongoing arrangements, providing the technical expertise and knowledge on how to deliver best value from contracting procedures, terms and conditions.Developing and ensuring efficient and effective systems, processes and policies for high quality contract management, working with a range of senior clinical and non-clinical staffOverseeing and maintaining a central Contracts Register for the NetworkAs required, provide training for non-financial managers both on a formal basis (as part of the network training & development programme) and on any other ad-hoc basis as required. This will include the preparation and presentation at workshops
