Role Purpose:

This role focuses on the efficient recovery of costs for network repairs caused by responsible parties. The successful candidate will uphold high recovery standards, meet performance KPIs and financial targets, and ensure all repair-related costs are accurately accounted for to maximise recoveries. Financial claims typically range from £2,000 to £500,000, and effective time and workload management is essential to achieve organisational goals.

Accountabilities :

To ensure all costs are accounted for and to raise accurate invoices that are a true reflection of the repair undertaken. To liaise with commercial, finance, and depots to ensure accurate information is passed. To ensure all costs are mapped to the correct incident and precise invoicing is recognised. To work with the Commercial team and subcontractors to understand external charges and to raise queries when necessary and to validate charges. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers (internal and external). To be the expert in Green Claims to ensure all questions can be effectively answered. To be the lead in settlement of claims and to build effective working relationships with the loss adjusters. Work with depots to understand the repair and circumstances behind each incident. To be the lead contact for all GC related questions and identify any major incidents. To assist with budgetary responsibility and guiding team to ensure targets are continually met. To cover management when absent and to take a lead with the team. Respond to queries regarding settlement and invoicing in a timely manner Work to achieve targets and objectives set by the Head of Claims Comply with finance processes, policies, controls and regulatory framework To ensure correct practice of document storage and ensuring all invoices and backup are correctly kept. Put forward improvement proposals where appropriate Assist other projects with claim recoveries Assist with red claims Any ad-hoc tasks as instructed by line manager

Person specification

Qualifications/ skills/ experience:

Experience of working in a credit control, administration or claims management environment preferably within the highways services or insurance sector. Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer and administrative skills. To understand the practice of the loss adjuster and to have studied Loss Adjuster Certification – Desirable

Personal attributes:

Excellent team player and leader. Able to deal with a high number of claims and associated queries (telephone and written) Organised and proactive Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with data input Excellent communicator with strong telephone and customer service skills Ability to create strong lasting working relationships both internal and external Confidence in Excel Tact and discretion for dealing with sensitive information Ability to communicate effectively across many levels of the organisation. Experience in finance and/or an insurance work environment.

Desirable:

Ideally experience of understanding claims and the repairs with a proven track record of correct invoicing within a fast paced multi-client Accounts receivable department Ideally proven credit control experience with a potential to lead and to exceed. Ideally have previously worked in the construction or maintenance sector

Location:
