Overviewof Role
An exciting opportunityfor an experienced Events Manager witha passion for delivering impactful activity and engaging globalaudiences.
Working in close collaboration withthe Head of Events & Partnerships the Events Manager willlead the programming and execution of a global digital and inpersonevents programme This role would suit a creative collaborative andhighly organised individual with excellent communication skills. Weare looking for someone who is experienced in endtoend eventmanagement and event marketing to help us develop brand awarenessbuild our prospect pipeline and engage a community of drinksprofessionals and enthusiasts around theworld.
As well as delivering our global eventsprogramme (weighted towards digital events) you will be responsiblefor identifying new opportunities for third party eventcollaborations contributing ideas to enhance our existing portfolioand ensuring that global event processes are adopted across allregional events.
Key events that this role isresponsible for include:
- AnnualGraduation and prizes
- Global APP Summit(annual digital event for WSET courseproviders)
- Global events hub webinar programme
- Campaign specific events
Our events programme is evolving soflexibility and a passion for both digital and inperson events isessential.
Key activitiesinclude:
- Manage allaspects of WSETs Events Hub webinar programme (approx. 24 sessionsannually) including planning and delivery of sessions audiencecommunication researching and curating sessions in line with globalmarketing themes securing a diverse range of speakers collaboratingcross functionally and managing our YouTube ondemand library andcommunity feed
- Endtoend event management ofWSETs flagship events: Graduation and prizes (hybrid) and theGlobal APP Summit (virtual)
- Supporting deliveryof alumni events trade and consumershows
- Writing engaging copy and building eventcommunications: invitations reminders post event followups
- Collaboration with global marketing team todevelop event promotional plans promotional assets and ensure theWSET brand is represented in line withguidelines
- Ensuring global events processes areadopted across all global and regional events from the event briefthrough to the post event report
- Managing thirdparty supplier relationships
- Ensuring eventsare delivered within budget and in accordance withobjectives
- Carrying out contingency planningrisk assessments and health and safetyprocedures
- Providing events consultancy andbest practice guidance to teams acrossWSET.
- Contribute to the successful overalloperation of the Trust by undertaking such other tasks as may fromtime to time be requested.

Essentialskills andcompetencies
- Extensiveend to end event management experience across inperson and digitalevents with a proven track record of achieving positive results anddelivering high quality activity
- Experience ofdelivering inclusive digital events on an international scaleparticularly across APAC Americas andEMEA
- Experience of developing event programmesusing data and market insights
- Experience ofproducing inspiring and engaging copy for a range of eventcommunications
- An understanding of eventsmarketing to create opportunities and optimisesuccess.
- Experienced using events managementand email platforms: Accel Events (or similar) Eventbrite Zoom andDot Digital
- Experience of building andmanaging relationships with a variety of stakeholders from diversebackgrounds
- Excellent budget management andreporting skills
- Experience appointing andmanaging third party suppliers andfreelancers.
- A knowledge of latest eventstrends and technologies
- A flexible approachwith the ability to prioritise workload operate under pressure andconfidently make decisions.
- A team player witha positive and proactive attitude
- Willingnessto travel and work outside of standard office hours includingevenings and weekends during busy eventperiods.
Desirableskills andcompetencies
- Professionalevents or marketing qualification
- Proficiencyin CRM ideally Microsoft Dynamics
