Job summary

An opportunityhas arisen within the CHoICE Procurement Services Systems Team for an OracleImplementation Officer providing a co-operative, efficient and reliableProcurement systems support to the CHoICE Procurement Service and Trust.

The roleprovides invaluable procurement support to the hospital sites. Key duties andtasks include the role out and maintaining of CHoICE procurement systems ofOracle and NHS Supply Chain to end users of the organisation. To providetraining and a continuous support service to end users. To ensure that thesystem hierarchies are setup in compliance with Trust and CHoICE Scheme ofDelegation and audit requirements and a key function of creating, uploading andmaintaining of online supplier catalogue databases.

You will needto be able to work under your own initiative without close supervision, beliterate and numerate with excellent customer service and organisationalskills. Good and clear verbal communication and interpersonal skills are vitalto this role and you will be liaising with various members of hospital staffworking across all levels.

The post willbe based at Sunderland Royal Hospital however travel to other sites may berequired.

Candidatesshould have some experience of Electronic Purchasing systems preferably Oracleand NHS Supply chain and knowledge and experience of MS Excel.

Main duties of the job

To work underthe guidance and direction of the Deputy Procurement Operational Manager andprovide support to the day to day running and maintaining of the overall ProcurementPurchasing systems.

The role isresponsible for the maintaining and development of Procurement Purchasingsystems of Oracle and NHS Supply Chain. Maintaining system hierarchies in linewith the Organisations Scheme of Delegation. To provide a customer service function,in providing training and support to end users of the procurement systems,improving quality and providing a seamless service to our internal customers.To support CHoICE Procurement Services with the key system support of creating,uploading and maintaining online catalogue databases, ensuring that local and nationalpricing agreements are uploaded onto our Procurement systems maximising costimprovement and benefits to our Organisation.

The roleinvolves the use of multiple computer systems so skills are a requirement.

The ProcurementSystems team service runs Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00and the Procurement Department offers a flexible working policy.

Job responsibilities

To facilitate the implementation of the Oracle Finance & Procurement computer system, on-line requisitioning roll out program, into South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (Inc all Community hubs) and City Hospitals Commercial Enterprises Ltd (CHoICE). To provide training prior to go live, post implementation review and ongoing training as needs arise. To provide training notes for all end users. To ensure that the requirements of the post keep up to speed with e-commerce developments and enhancements as the Oracle system develops within the North East Patch (NEP).
