Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the company’s HR Development (HRD) strategies aligned to Business strategy and National Skills Development Strategy. Develop, communicate and implement company HRD policies and procedures Compile and monitor the department’s budget Implement new approaches to effect continuous improvements in the efficiency effectiveness of HRD and management practices Drive initiatives that create a culture of continuous improvement. The use of accredited service providers that have been procured at group level for the entire company to ensure better rates, allows for alignment to legislative requirements Collate and compile monthly and annual training reports and statistics, highlighting areas for improvement and providing recommendations. Implement a quality assurance system for Learning and Development, including mentorship and coaching programs. Facilitate and manage the process for individual development plans ensuring they are linked to Individual KPIs. Ensure that communication with all internal and external Stakeholders is effective (All levels of management, Union, Tertiary Institutions, SETA's etc.) Continuous benchmarking and Learning to ensure that the business is up-to-date with new developments in the Education, Training and Development environment as well as Talent Management Initiatives Manage discretionary grants, bursaries, learnerships and apprentice scheme processes from recruitment until deployment on completion of the program for Future talent needs Implement change management interventions related to organizational development. Design and implementation of retention strategies.

Minimum job requirements

Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or any related field At least 5 years’ experience in designing, coordinating, scheduling, and conducting learning and development programs including wide range of delivery methods for both Plant Technical and Soft skills programs. Proven learning and development experience in a Manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Proven track record of dealing with MERSETA, or similar statutory education bodies. Experience in WSP/ATR development and submission (mandatory & discretionary grant management) Experience with BBBEE Skills Development Reporting. Ability to communicate, give feedback and operate at all levels (including written and verbal) Must be able to work independently and under pressure. Must have excellent time management skills and be deadline driven. Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate good judgment. Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills Ability to communicate and operate at all levels (including written and verbal) Must be computer literacy, i.e. MS Office at Intermediate level
