The work of the team as a whole is a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, for a wide range of clients. Our lawyers undertake a significant amount of business development and knowledge-sharing including giving seminars, training the team and creating content for various channels and publications.
ResponsibilitiesThis role involves providing dedicated support to our International Practice Development Lawyer (IPDL), who works alongside our team of employment Practice Development Lawyers (PDLs) all of whom support our lawyers in Great Britain. Key aspects of the IPDL’s work includes developing solutions and materials to support our clients with the complexities of managing a global workforce; supporting global employment conferences; organising and delivering training and legal updates on global employment law developments for clients and the employment team; and overseeing, editing and writing client alerts and publications.
Key duties and responsibilities
The jobholder will provide support to our IPDL across the full range of know-how, training and business development activities the PDLs provide for the team. Key elements of the role include:
Working on international projects including carrying out research relevant to these projects; Tracking European directives and their national implementation status; Collating and editing global employment law updates and developments; Assisting with international podcasts on aspects of global employment law; Supporting our flagship “managing an international workforce” conference; Supporting and assisting lawyers in preparing for conferences and other speaking engagements; Conducting legal and know-how research and contributing written material as required; Supporting the planning and coordination of training; and Helping organise, maintain, improve, and expand the employment team’s precedents, know-how materials and knowledge management systems.Candidate profile
Candidates will have excellent academics; ideally educated to degree level or equivalent (preferably in Law or a similar subject), together with a legal qualification or previous legal experience. Candidates will have strong written, research and analytical skills; a clear communication style (both spoken and written); IT and numeracy skills; and must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills with a passion to work in a fast-paced professional and friendly team. They must be highly organised and have a flexible nature, and a co-operative and willing attitude. Prior experience and knowledge of employment work would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

Proficient IT skills - Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, DocsCorp PDF Docs, Word Compare (DocsCorp CompareDocs), Document Management System (Netdocs), although full in house training will be provided.
