Job summary

To meet the growing demand for our innovative Outpatient we're recruiting a Band 3 HCSW in out-patient department at Newham University Hospital.

You will be supported by the Junior Sisters/Charge Nurse and will be working alongside with our leading consultants to ensure patients have quicker access to their consultations whilst receiving a high standard of clinical care.

Main duties of the job

To provide support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals by giving direct patient care and providing other support and administrative services under assist in the maintenance of a health and hygienic environment.

To undertake customer care training and implement best practice when dealing with patients and other members of staff.

To maintain a flexible approach to team work within the undertake other duties as requested by nurse in charge.

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths NVQ Level 3/Care certificate

Specialist trainings Eg: OCT, VF,Bladder scan etc

Two years Health Care Assistant experience Experience of working in an NHS. Literate and able to perform basic numeric calculations Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent Experience of dealing with the public face-to-face and over the telephone Ability to use basic IT programmers ( Office packages) Understanding of equal opportunities Understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge of local community and an understanding of the multi-cultural diverse population An awareness of health and safety issues in the work place
