Hillcrest is an acute Mental Health Ward in Redditch and provides inpatientservices across Worcestershire. It is a vital service for supporting those withmental health difficulties of varying complexities. The ward is supported by anestablished Medical team who will continue to support the wider MDT.

We have a number of projects focusingon clinical leadership, operational management and strategic planning whichwill offer many opportunities for professional development. In the next12 months the ward will move from its current stand-alone site in Redditch, toa newly refurbished purpose-built acute ward on the Elgar site in Worcester(please make sure you are able to work in Worcester before applying for thisrole in Redditch). There will be 3 wards in total, allowing us to furtherour offer of safe, sustainable,andquality therapeutic mental health care to our patients. Opportunities totransition from one ward to another do not come up very often and we would love you to be part of that experience withus helping us to shape a culture of care we are proud of in a new setting.

Main duties of the job

Deliveringa high quality clinical service to patients and their families.

Acting asnamed nurse to a group of patients under the direction / supervision of theperson identified with continuing responsibility.

Participatingin therapeutic group work programmes.

Takingcharge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager and deputy ward manager.

You willbe responsible for the assessment of care needs and contributing to; theformulation of the person's needs and the development of a relevant plan basedupon the person's negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions.

You will,in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, provide nursing interventionsto support the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/ orparticipate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilisingrecommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identifiedcarer throughout the clinical

Youwill act as a positive role model for staff and service users in a manner thatpositively reflects the core values of the organisation.
