The vacancies are for the following shifts:

Tuesday - 9 hour shift Thursday - to Friday - 6 hour shift.

Main duties of the job

Chronic disease management (experience in diabetic and respiratory reviews) Cervical smears. Assisting with Minor surgery clinics. Contraception reviews. Wound care and removal of sutures. Travel advice and injections. Implementing and taking part in vaccination and immunisation programmes for adults and children. ECGs. Maintaining and controlling injectable and oral drug stocks in the treatment room and clinical rooms. Carrying out home visits.

We are a long-established practice with over 21,000 patients. We are a very friendly team serving patients across Biggleswade, Sandy, Langford, and the surrounding area. This role is based across all 3 sites with staff parking facilities available.

We are a very busy surgery. As an integral part of the practice nursing team, you will be working alongside a friendly, hardworking team of healthcare assistants, practice nurses, paramedics, advanced nurse practitioners, an advanced clinical practitioner, and our GPs.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

A relevant nursing degree or diploma. Current NMC registration with an active PIN. Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.

Experience

Essential

Experience in a treatment room consultation, management of long-term conditions, ECG recording, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations, and immunisations. Compassionate and caring manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice. Excellent teamwork skills. Adaptability.
