The successfulcandidate will work as part of a fastpaced team and be responsiblefor the administration of Council Tax accounts in line with currentlegislation ensuring all necessary action is taken to collectrevenue efficiently and effectively. They will process moves in outand within the authority deal with applications for reliefs andexemptions and make payment arrangements with customers. The rolerequires the skills to effectively respond to enquiries received byletter telephone and electronically as well as undertakingproactive work to improve collection and recover debt. You will bean enthusiastic committed team player understanding best practiceand customer contact procedures with experience in debt collection.You will be able to demonstrate a good standard of numeracy andliteracy be able to work using your own initiative prioritiseconflicting deadlines managing your time efficiently with goodcommunication skills. We are looking for someone with recentrelevant Council Tax experience as an essential requirement. Aknowledge of Civica Open Revenues systems would be preferable. Thepassion to provide an excellent level of service is key as well asgreat communication skills and the ability to work as a team.

Experience/successful track record of providingcollection/financial assessment services. Adaptable and keen to bepart of a pooled resource across the assessment hub. Experience ofprocessing income related and other claims, changes in circumstanceand other enquiries within a collection/assessment relatedenvironment delivering high quality services. Good written and oralcommunications skills and the ability to communicate complexmatters effectively to customers. Good IT/Technical skills,knowledge. Evidence of continuous professional development ofskills and knowledge Experience of collection/assessment relatedroles. Business administration/professional collection/assessmentqualification. A good understanding of collection, income/financialrelated assessments and benefit services delivered across theCouncil. A good knowledge of best practice approaches incollection/financial assessments of income related and otherreductions within a local authority environment. A goodunderstanding of welfare benefits and best practice approaches toaligning decision making with value for moneyprinciples.
