Cheshire West and Chester Council's StreetCare Service is currently recruiting a Lead Officer to its Street Cleansing Team. If you are passionate about your local environment and want to make positive contributions to the way that our borough looks and feels, then you could be the person we are looking for.

As a Street Cleansing Lead Officer you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across a given geographic area of the borough. You'll be supported by a small team of StreetCare Officers, for whom you'll assume daily supervisory responsibility.

The Street Cleansing team take the lead in ensuring that our borough is a clean, safe and hygienic place to live and visit, and this is achieved by using a broad range of specialist tools, equipment and machinery. Some of the daily tasks undertaken by our StreetCare Officers include;

•Emptying litter bins

•Collection of litter and fly tipping

•Removal of graffiti and fly posting

•Street washing and gum removal

•Collection and removal of leaves, detritus and weeds

•Reacting to reports of hazardous waste such as sharps

•Operation of specialised equipment to achieve the above.

 The role is borough wide but initially reporting to our Canalside Operations Hub in Ellesmere Port.
