Job: Project Manager/BusinessAnalyst

Location: 400 E 14thStreet Des Moines IA 50319 (Hybrid 2 days/week)

Client is seeking an individual thathas a hybrid IT Project Manager background and Business Analystskill set. This position will be responsible for leading a projectto update and integrate teacher and administrator workforce datafor the Iowa Department of Education. The successful candidate musthave prior project management experience and have demonstratedknowledge and experience managing data system projects. Thisindividual also needs to be adept and working with system owners toextract information and document requirements. In this role thisindividual will lead meetings solve problems facilitate andcoordinate communication between the parties document projectstatus. This is an opportunity to work in a missiondrivenenvironment supporting Iowas teacher workforce data collection andreporting systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and schedule project deliverablesmilestones and required activities and tasks.
  • Provide guidance to project team members throughout theproject life cycle and confer with project staff to outline aworkplan.
  • Work with project sponsor data systemowners subject matter experts and program consultants to analyzeand document business requirements and communicate details tostaff.
  • Create a catalog of data from eachsource system frequency of availability and plan to update forreporting purposes.
  • Outline specification forreports that are needed.
  • Work withstakeholders to define data and system design and coordinate thedesign development and testing of technical systems andservices.
  • Maintain project managementdocumentation including risk and mitigation activities keepingaware of the status of the project and the need to employmitigation measures for compliance with project objectives andtimelines.
  • Verify all system documentation iscomplete and testing is successful before approvals for liveimplementation are made.
  • Direct and coordinateactivities of project personnel and vendor representatives toensure project goals are accomplished and are in line with businessobjectives.
  • Monitor project activities toensure quality and integrity of deliverables. Perform changecontrol.
  • Requirements

Required:

  1. Four or more years of progressively responsible ITproject management experience Required 4 Years
  2. Experience with major project management methodologiese.g. waterfall agile hybrid Required 4 Years
  3. Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams andmanaging a variety of IT projects including data systemsapplication deployments or similar Required 4 Years
  4. Adept at extracting and developing requirements documentsRequired 4 Years
  5. Ability to work with data andconduct high level analysis create reports to be shared with a widevariety of stakeholders Required 4 Years
  6. Knowledge of project management methodology andexperience or familiarity with major program management approaches(for example PMI agile etc.) Required 4 Years
  7. Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communicationskills Required 4 Years
  8. Experience managingprojects of a size and complexity similar to the size andcomplexity of the Department Required 4 Years
  9. Certification in project management (e.g. PMP)Required
  10. Experience working in Stategovernment academic institution or similar organization.
