We are currently recruiting a part-time Catering Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis in our busy community centre restaurant.
This is a unique environment where you will work as part of a strong and supportive team. As a Catering Assistant you will work with staff members and volunteers within our busy commercial kitchen. Tasks include serving food, preparing meals including light refreshments and temperature monitoring.
Excellent communication skills, previous experience in a busy catering environment and an empathetic approach are essential.
The post is for 10 hours per week. This will be for 2 hours per day to cover the lunchtime period, 11.30am – 1.30pm. There will also be a requirement to cover planned holiday absences of the Catering Manager when the hours will be from 8.00 – 3.00pm and any sickness absence which may be at short notice.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of food Take customer orders face to face Provide a high level of customer service Maintain tidiness, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas Assist with the serving of meals and drinks Use and clean kitchen appliances safely and responsiblyThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Excellent communication skills Previous experience in a catering role Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to completeIn return we can offer:
