This is an exciting position,leveraging the NxWave platform to lead application of computationalapproaches in drug discovery projects and develop novel,computational odology, for wider utility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thisis an influential leadership post in a highly collaborativeenvironment. The successful applicant will manage a team ofcomputational chemists supporting a diverse portfolio of internaland partnered projects. They will also play an active role as amember of the Discovery leadership team, using their knowledge andexperience to contribute to growing the function and influencingR&D and company strategy.
In this role, thesuccessful candidatewill:
- Ensure scientificexcellence of the computational chemistry team through effectiveline-management and mentoring, supporting delivery of key internaland partnered milestones.
- Work with keystakeholders across other disciplines in Nxera Pharma to influenceR&D strategy and define and execute high quality computationalstrategies that enhance delivery of projects across theportfolio.
- Drive continuous growth anddevelopment of cutting-edge SBDD & CADDodologies.
- Lead implementation of innovativecomputational solutions (e.g. ML/AI workflows) that add value inthe NxWave drug design process.
- Support growthof our NxStaR Platform Technology by implementation of machinelearning and AI approaches for in silico proteindesign.
AsHead of Computational Chemistry you willrequire:
- Demonstrableleadership ss and the ability to lead a team of experiencedcomputational scientists.
- Track record ofimpactful contributions within relevant sector(s) including pharma,biotech, academia, CRO.
- Evidence of broadexpertise in computational sciences with an emphasis onstructure-based drug design (including GPCRs), ligand- andstructure-based virtual screening, cheminformatics, and machinelearning.
- Demonstrable technical excellence inaspects of predictive modelling (AI/ML), such as: QSAR, activelearning, molecular generation, etc.
- Trackrecord of identifying, developing, and applying innovativesolutions to scientific and technological problems faced incomputational molecular design and in the wider drug discoveryorganisation.
- Extensiveknowledge of related disciplines (e.g. chemistry, biology, DMPK,safety) with demonstrable evidence of developing and implementingnew scientific strategies incollaboration.
- Proficiency in membrane proteinstructural modelling using the latest AIimplementations.
- Evidence of influencingproject and organisational scientificstrategy.
- Excellent written and oralcommunication ss and the ability to interact effectively withscientists in other disciplines and external partners with apositive, collegial, collaborativeattitude.
