The service you will work in….

This service provides accommodation-based support for male offenders and men at risk of offending. This service is primarily for offenders who have low to medium-level support needs leaving prison and preventing re-offending. The service can be used as either a step-up or step-down from other supported accommodation.

Service users come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. The majority have been released from prison on Licence, effectively serving the final part of their sentence in the community, though we also work with service users on various Probation Orders and those on Bail. Referrals are made through a central referral system operated by London Probation. The service works closely with multiple agencies (probation officers, housing and benefits services) and provides support around substance misuse and accessing other health services.

Approved Premises play an important role in rehabilitation and community reintegration for these men who are ready to move forward and build a positive future.

Due to the nature of the role, this post is open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).

A day in this role looks like….

As an Operations Managerat Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Criminal Justice Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

Modelling pro-social behaviour and attitudes, helping to create and maintain a positive culture of respect in all work inside and outside of the service with both clients and colleagues Developing and overseeing systems, procedures and policies, to ensure all residents in the AP are managed to meet Ministry of Justice/National Probation Service (MoJ/NPS) requirements Actively encouraging and supporting psychologically informed practice and an Enabling Environment focused approach All aspects of line management including recruitment, induction, scheduling, development and performance management of staff Following protocols, encouraging compliance and taking enforcement action as necessary Ensuring that colleagues, multi-agency partners and management are informed and updated as necessary Participating in the NPS risk assessment and referral process for London APs. Managing Health and Safety within a high-risk setting Establishing and maintaining effective representation at internal and external forums, . MAPPA Participation in on-call management cover for Hestia APs, including out of hours Ensuring staff contribute to delivery of the sentence plan in conjunction with colleagues in probation, the police and other external agencies Supporting and encouraging staff to design and deliver a range of purposeful activities including preparation, facilitation and evaluation Ensuring that all related administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, that information is shared appropriately and that confidentiality is properly maintained Managing financial aspects such as daily income/expenditure of Service Charge/ Petty Cash Developing and recording effective outcomes, targets and performance measurement Using initiative to identify and deal with additional tasks or issues as they arise
