We are recruiting for an Assistant Paralegal to join our specialist Motor and Asset Finance team in Glasgow on a 12 month fixed term contract. As an Assistant Paralegal you will report into a team manager and work as part of a team of assistant paralegals and paralegals.  

 

Your Role 

As an Assistant Paralegal your role will include the following; 

  • Opening files, conflict checking, organising documents including ongoing file management such as electronic filing, printing, scanning, closing. 
  • Working with and maintaining excel spreadsheets, databases, portals and systems used within the team. 
  • Ordering documents from the Land Registry. 
  • Support on billing and arranging for third parties to be paid. 
  • Pre-litigation tasks including sending letters before claim, making telephone calls, preparing and sending e-mails, instructing trace reports, managing payments from customers and investigations work. 
  • Liaising with customers, clients and third parties via telephone and email. 
  • Carrying out litigation tasks and supporting paralegals with their day-to-day work to include issuing claims for Return of Goods/Money Judgment, preparing witness statements, instructing agents and providing updates to the client. 
  • Supporting team manager on any assigned tasks. 

 

Your Skill and Experience 
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written).  
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility. 
  • Ability to work well as part of a busy team. 
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is required and experience in PDF would be beneficial.
