Hours: 36.66 per week

Role Overview:

To deliver introductory ESOL activity and courses focusing at Pre-entry to Entry level 3 in community settings including within the contingency accommodation and local libraries. The role holder will support Residents of Oldham including Asylum seekers to practise, develop and improve their English language skills enabling them to become more resilient and able to access other services independently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Link and liaise with community organisations who are supporting Residents of Oldham to provide suitable access to ESOL language development.
  • To plan and prepare initial assessments, lesson plans and relevant resources for learning focused at Pre-entry to Entry level learners.
  • To ensure that individual learner needs are met, and progress is monitored, recorded and reflected in lesson planning.
  • To complete all appropriate administrative tasks, including registers, learner agreement forms and risk assessments.
  • Provide individual / group ongoing assessment to support learning to ensure achievement and progression.


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Relevant subject qualification at level 3 or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification
  • Excellent organisational skills to deliver teaching and learning in a community setting within the Post 19 sector; with practitioner experience in the ESOL curriculum area
