The Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to develop a deep understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics. You will play an important role in inspiring students to think critically and to enjoy the subject through exciting and interactive teaching methods.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel encouraged to participate and succeed.
  • Incorporating a variety of teaching strategies, including practical work and innovative resources, to engage students.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the wider development of the science department.
  • Supporting the school’s extracurricular activities by getting involved in science-related clubs or events.
Candidate Requirements:

The school is looking for both experienced teachers and ECTs who are committed to high-quality teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it.
  • A degree in a relevant science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • A passion for science and a desire to inspire students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations for student behaviour and achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
