Robert Half Talent Solutions are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk for an expanding business based in Chepstow.

Our client is looking for someone to take responsibility with the maintenance of the Purchase Ledger on their financial accounting system, providing effective and efficient support the small and friendly finance team. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience working in a high-volume purchase ledger environment.

Location: Chepstow

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 4 days on-site, 1 day remote

Responsibilities:

  • Processing and coding invoices
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Resolving invoice discrepancies with suppliers
  • Maintaining supplier records
  • Preparing payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger role
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage or SAP (desirable)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or with stock management (desirable)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
