Band 7 Senior Lead. 

The successful post holder will work 37.5 hours per week as a Band 7 Senior Lead with Sandwell CRHTT. There is also the expectation to occasionally provide cross-cover support to other CRHTTs in other localities in the Black Country. The post involves strategic clinical leadership, line management responsibilities and deputising in the absence of the Team Manager.

This role will compliment and support the existing management structure of the team.

CRHTT is at the forefront of providing an excellent borough wide urgent care mental health service to clients who would otherwise require hospital admission. 

You will be motivated for the challenge and committed to developing your own leadership styles, having a strong personal values base and modelling the Trust Values. 

Main duties of the job

To provide strategic clinical leadership in relation to area and actively take the lead on policy and service developments To demonstrate advanced competence in highly complex decision making, assessment and the management of clinical needs within the specialist area of practice To initiate and contribute towards research and audit within the area of expertise To provide regular clinical/managerial supervisions to staff in the team in collaboration with the wider Band 7 CRHTT structure and as per delegation by the CRHTT Manager to achieve compliance to Trust Policy. To provide leadership support to the team providing urgent referral triage, MH assessments, and crisis/home treatment interventions as required, including monitoring of clinical standards, audit and adherence to Trust policy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To act as a lead point of contact for the services responding to requests for the service and promoting the role of the team. To work with the line manager on the delivery of the Crisis, Home Treatment, Triage, and bed management functions (OOH). Responding to complaints and suggestions from clients and carers, in accordance with Trust policies and procedure To take continuing responsibility for urgent care services interventions.  To act as a specialist lead clinician covering the area. To utilise specialist skills in managing and communicating with patients, their families, carers and other agencies in situations that are sensitive, highly complex and may be emotionally distressing. To offer support and advice to carers and patients. To observe confidentiality in all matters relating to clients and staff. To maintain a high standard of clinical and professional practice at all times in accordance with the Professional Body guidelines. To ensure rapid access and timely response to patients To provide specialist advice to the public via third sector organisations To deliver clinical/managerial supervision

Essential criteria

A professional healthcare qualification (Nurse, OT, SW) Advanced knowledge of and experience of working in Mental Health and Assessment Advanced knowledge and application of current best practices in mental health Ability to work under pressure and set priorities Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team, partner agencies, stakeholders and commissioners Ability to be flexible and imaginative Significant Post-graduate experience of working in mental health to include CRHT & Urgent Care Services. Strategic management approach, effective leadership experience

Desirable criteria

Previous experience of working at Band 7 level on either a clinical or leadership basis

Comprehensive experience of multi- disciplinary work Calm under pressure in distressing or sensitive situations
