Survey Coordinator

The ALIGN Delivery Surveyor & Coordinator will be responsible for the administration and organisation of the Survey team, equipment processes, registers and reporting, innovation and integration of Survey/BIM/GIS processes, assisting in the coordination and mentoring of apprentices and junior graduates, point of contact and lead for Sub-Contracted surveys, technical lead for innovative processes in conjunction with discipline heads and Chief Surveyor.
 
About our role:
  • Survey reporting and As-Built delivery management in-line with Client and project specifications.
  • Administration of Survey team processes and methodologies in conjunction with the Chief Surveyor.
  • Management and administration of the Survey equipment processes registers and calibrations in line with the engineering survey management plan.
  • Management of the survey team requisitions and accounts administration.
  • Preparation of risk assessed method statements for engineering survey related activities.
  • Assisting in the management and mentoring for survey apprentices and graduates.
  • Initial point of contact and lead for Sub-contracted surveys.
  • Lead innovation and integration of survey/BIM/GIS processes.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and innovative processes.
  • Technical expert for UAV surveys and initial point of contact for all UAV operations on the project.
  • Supervising and instructing survey related personnel to ensure quality, timely and safe work practices.
  • Carrying out, through the team, land and Engineering surveys as required and providing cover as required.
  • Carrying out laser scanning and other industry leading surveying techniques.
  • Attend and represent ALIGN at client and cross-contract meetings relevant to role.
  • Ensuring best safe practices during all survey-based operations, liaise with the site-based construction and safety staff.
  • Accurately and reliably produce survey data to present to construction team and other stakeholders as required.
  • Effectively managing a team(s) in line with the Project strategy.
  • always Ensuring the safe execution of the work.
  • Fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans.
  • Complying with all Company’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertaking other such reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
 
About you:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Land Survey or Geomatics and / or relevant work experience which demonstrates applied knowledge of land survey procedures.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior/Lead Surveyor.
  • Membership of or working towards chartership with a relevant organisation – RICS, CICES etc.
  • Extensive experience in their field.
  • Up to date knowledge in Land & Engineering Surveying techniques.
  • Experienced in Survey reporting and delivery for handover.
  • Knowledge of BIM standards, processes, and procedures
  • A self-sufficient and motivated individual who can build a team, develop strategy, secure resources, and establish processes for surveying.
  • Knowledge of HS2Grid or similar grid systems preferably including translation between grid systems.
  • Computer skills across the whole Microsoft Office suite, extensive experience of various survey processing software suites and CAD applications
  • Experience of large scale GNSS network adjustments and best practice
  • PfCO qualified with extensive UAV experience both in field and processing (desirable)
  • Experience in leading numbers of teams, departmental organisation.
  • CSCS Card holder.
  • SMSTS (desirable)
