Vacancy Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the environment? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility? If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Waste Officer (Enforcement).

As a Waste Officer (Enforcement), you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with waste management regulations and promoting sustainable waste practices within the West Berkshire area. Reporting to the Principal Waste Officer (Management), you will be responsible for:

Investigating and resolving waste-related complaints and incidents Conducting site inspections and audits to monitor compliance Providing advice and guidance to businesses and residents on waste management Enforcing relevant legislation and issuing appropriate notices and penalties Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in waste services

To excel in this role, you should have:

A good understanding of waste management legislation and best practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
