Position: Religious Studies Teacher

About the role:

Step Teachers are working with a vibrant school that are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join their faculty. The Religious Studies Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering insightful lessons that explore the history, beliefs, practices, and ethical dimensions of various religious traditions. This individual will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their own beliefs and perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for religious studies courses, incorporating a variety of instructional strategies and resources.
  • Foster critical thinking skills and encourage respectful dialogue and debate about religious beliefs and practices.
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of student work and collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and development.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and the wider community to promote understanding and appreciation of religious diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in religious studies, Theology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more religious traditions, with a commitment to understanding and respecting diverse perspectives.
  • The Religious Studies Teacher must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of varied backgrounds and abilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school community beyond the classroom.
