About the Opportunity:

Step Teachers is collaborating with a dynamic educational institution in search of a committed and enthusiastic Faith Studies Educator to enhance their teaching team. The Faith Studies Educator will be tasked with crafting and delivering engaging lessons that delve into the historical, doctrinal, and ethical aspects of various faith traditions. This role requires the creation of an inclusive and nurturing classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to reflect on their own beliefs and viewpoints.

Key Duties:

  • Design and execute a thorough curriculum for faith studies classes, utilizing diverse teaching methods and resources.
  • Encourage analytical thinking and promote respectful discussions regarding faith beliefs and practices.
  • Provide constructive feedback and evaluations of student assignments while collaborating with peers to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Engage with families and the broader community to foster appreciation and understanding of religious diversity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in religious studies, Theology, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more faith traditions, with a dedication to understanding and valuing diverse perspectives.
  • The Faith Studies Educator must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of connecting with students from various backgrounds and abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and a willingness to contribute to the school community beyond the classroom.
