Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a dietitian with home enteral feeding experience to work with patients in their own homes as part of the HEF team based at Worthing Hospital.

You will also have line management and supervisory responsibilities for the other dietitians and dietetic assistant in the team.

Worthing Hospital is a district general hospital covering a number of specialities including paediatrics, surgery and oncology. You will work closely with our inpatient team, feeding contract provider and other local organisations involved in patient care.

Worthing hospital is situated 5 minutes from the coast and vibrant town centre and has excellent transport links to London and Brighton

Main duties of the job

The post holder would work as part of our Home Enteral Feeding Team providing dietetic care to our adult home enterally fed patients, which includes patients in their own home and in care/nursing homes. The role also involves being the lead for the team and responsibility for service development within the team.

You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to work autonomously to manage a specialist caseload of patients. You will be a car driver with access to your own car to enable you to travel to other sites and patient homes.

We are committed to training and professional development and train student dietitians for A, B and C placements.

You should have experience of managing a team and supervising other dietitians.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Worthing is a district general hospital situated in Worthing and is part of University Hospitals Sussex Trust. 

The team of home enteral feeding dietitians, and dietetic assistant are part of the wider Worthing dietetic team which includes specialities diabetes, surgery, gastroenterology, oncology and paediatrics

To work as a member of the home enteral feeding team providing dietetic care to patients with complex medical and nutritional needs requiring enteral nutrition support in the community.
