Clinical Fellow / Clinical Research Fellow in General & Hepato-Biliary Surgery

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

oPostgraduate degree in Surgery oFull GMC registration with a licence to practise oMRCS

Desirable

oIntercalated Degree oMSc or PhD oAcademic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc.)

Experience

Essential

oClinical experience oEvidence of participation in Research and Clinical Governance

Desirable

oExperience of on call duties at middle grade level oExperience of HPB surgery

Additional clinical experience

Essential

oCompletion of CST or equivalent oPostgraduate level training in General Surgery and GI/HPB Surgery

Skill/Knowledge/Abilities

Essential

oEffective and demonstrable communication skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues oEvidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working oUp to date with current medical practices oAbility to take appropriate clinical decisions when necessary oResearch and interests relevant to specialty oValues aligned to those of the Health Board
