About us

The ALC (All-weather Lifeboat Centre), which opened in 2015, is the RNLI’s very own boat building facility in Poole which brings every stage of lifeboat construction, refit and maintenance in-house and under one roof.

We have a full schedule of Lifeboat production and refit, and an increase in the number of older Lifeboats coming through our factory for refit and maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced, skilled Marine Electrician to join our team.

Your role

As an Electrical Technician, you will undertake the installation, modification, repair/maintenance and diagnostics of electrical equipment/systems, i.e. engine systems, power supplies, charging, rewire, and some electronics. Working in conjunction with other members of the All-weather Lifeboat Centre, you will ensure that tasks are completed in a structured and professional manner.

About you

You must be able to work to Engineering drawings and standardised work, safely and efficiently. You will be working as a member of a multi-disciplined team ensuring that lifeboats are built and refitted on time and within budget, meeting the RNLI’s stringent quality standards. 

It is essential you have relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC qualifications, time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience. 

Previous experience on the assembly, installation, modification, repair/maintenance, and diagnosis of electrical equipment/systems within the marine environment is desirable.
