Main duties of the job

As a GP at Tulasi Medical Centre, your primary duties involve delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. This includes diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, managing chronic illnesses, and promoting preventive healthcare measures. You'll collaborate on Quality Improvement (QI) projects aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our services. Additionally, you'll contribute to our goal of becoming a teaching practice by mentoring medical students and trainee GPs. Improving access to healthcare services is another key aspect of your role, achieved through innovative appointment scheduling and exploring alternative consultation methods like telemedicine. GPs at Tulasi also participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, maintain accurate medical records, and stay updated on current medical guidelines and research. Tulasi Medical Centre is a thriving practice located across three sites, serving over 22,000 patients in our community. **Role Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner (GP) to join our team at Tulasi Medical Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive primary medical care to patients of all ages, promoting preventive healthcare measures, and contributing to our ongoing efforts to enhance patient access, quality of care, and service delivery.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Clinical Care:** Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, managing long-term illnesses, and promoting preventive health measures.

2. **Quality Improvement (QI) Projects:** Collaborate with colleagues on QI projects aimed at improving clinical outcomes, patient safety, and service delivery. Take a lead role in initiatives related to Smear Tests and Childhood Immunisations, ensuring adherence to best practices and guidelines.

3. **Teaching and Mentorship:** Support our goal of becoming a teaching practice by providing mentorship and supervision to medical students and trainee GPs. Share your knowledge and expertise through educational sessions and clinical supervision.

4. **Improving Access:** Work with our team to identify and implement strategies for improving patient access to healthcare services. This may include optimising appointment scheduling, offering extended hours, and exploring alternative consultation methods such as telemedicine and e-consults.

5. **Multidisciplinary Collaboration:** Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits to review patient care, coordinate services, and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients.

6. **Record Keeping and Documentation:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

- Medical degree from a recognised institution.

- Completion of residency training in General Practice/Family Medicine.

- Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.

- Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent qualification preferred.

- Excellent clinical skills and diagnostic abilities.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.

- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

- Experience in Quality Improvement (QI) projects and/or medical education is desirable but not essential.
