A leadingglobal manufacturer of passenger informationsystems for public transport is seeking a skilledTechnical Support Engineer to join theirexpanding team. Specializing in innovative solutions for thetransport industry this company designs develops and manufacturescuttingedge technology at their headquarters in Lewes East Sussexwhile also operating internationally with offices and partnersaround theworld.

Thisrole is an exciting opportunity to work in a company at theforefront of technological change where you will be involved ineverything from onsite installations and repairs to remotetroubleshooting and customersupport.


Responsibilities:
  • Attendvarious customer sites across the UK to perform installationsrepairs surveys and upgrades ofequipment.
  • Answertechnical queries via email phone and video conferencing platformssuch asTeams.
  • Configureequipment and prepare media content using bespoke softwaretools.
  • Collaboratewith sales R&D and production teams to resolve issues andimprove productperformance.
  • Providefirstline support on products troubleshooting hardware and softwareissues.
  • Carryout site evaluations and offer suggestions forimprovements.
  • Delivertraining to customers on inhouse software and hardwaresolutions.
  • Participatein team meetings and occasional travel to the head office inLewes.


Requirements:
  • Abilityto work independently or as part of a team demonstratingflexibility inproblemsolving.
  • Experiencein repairing electrical and electronic devices (soldering cablerepairscrimping).
  • FullUK driving license and willingness to travel within the UK andoccasionallyabroad.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills.
  • Proficientwith Windows operating systems and Microsoft Officepackages.
  • Familiarwith networking and serialprotocols.
  • Awellorganized approach to tasks with the ability to manage multipleprojectssimultaneously.
  • Comfortablewith overnight stays away from home whenrequired.


DesirableSkills:
  • Experiencewith serial communication standards andprotocols.
  • Familiaritywith Linux operatingsystems.
  • Understandingof electrical and electronic system design (circuit diagramswiring).
  • Previoustechnical support experience especially in the public transport ormanufacturingsectors.
