Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.
Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:
- Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
- Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
- Assisting in all decorating.
- Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
- Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- To comply with system and procedures.
- Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
- To work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

You will be working at Ann House, a Learning Disability and Autism service which providescare and support to 16 adults who have a learning disability and/or mental health needs.
Ann House provides a specialist provision with enhanced levels of support which allowspeople with continuing challenging behaviour and high support needs to be cared for inthe least restrictive setting possible, but within a service which is robust and structuredenough to meet their ongoing needs and risks.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure people lead good andmeaningful everyday lives, where they have choice and control, accessing mainstreamservices and facilities, engaging in work and training, in leisure opportunities, hobbies andareas of personal interest. Ann House encourages people to be as independent as possiblewith the long-term aim of people moving onto a more independent living setting.
