We have afull-time developmental band 5-6 nurse opportunity, which is an excitingposition for a Community Mental Health nurse, however we would also welcome andconsider part time applicants. Thisdevelopment role in underpinned by a supportive competency-based framework tohelp build both your experience and competence in becoming a band 6practitioner. We welcome newly qualified band 5 mental health nurse, or a nurse with inpatientexperience who would like to develop their expertise in acommunity mental health setting.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as a keymember and resource of the MDT core team. You will hold a blended caseload ofcommon mental health disorders and severe mental illness patients however yourcaseload will reflect your stage of clinical development, with opportunity tobuild on your skills and consider your specialist areas of interest. Working flexibly to provide the servicedelivery need across the county. Attending weekly MDT meetings,participate in professionals meetings, signpost to adjunct services dependingon patient need. Support and guidance to the carers ofpatients accessing the services.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Work across all clinicallyappropriate patients, 17-years-old and over, to deliver evidence-basedinterventions.

Under the direction of ServiceLead and as part of the Community Mental Health Service, provide prompt localassessment, triage, risk assessment, risk management, signposting, onwardreferral and evidence-based interventions for people presenting with mentalhealth problems.

Provide apresence for consultation for all primary care and VCS staff.

Represent theteam on specific projects and working groups as required.
