Job summary

As a Procurement Lead within the Professional Services, Corporate Services and Estates team for the Commercial Directorate the post holder will lead and work as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team.

The NHS is one of the biggest commercial "organisations" in the country, buying on behalf of the fifth biggest employer in the world. NHS England rely upon the commercial teams to buy the goods and services they need, making them critical to the delivery of the roles of NHS England.

Commercial activity can vary from call off against frameworks all the way to large, multi-million pound procurements in areas as diverse as consultancy through to waste management and is underpinned by exceptional stakeholder management skills and close working with our Contract management and Commercial Governance teams.

This role is a key role as part of the Commercial Directorate, reporting to the Head of Procurement in the category.

Main duties of the job

Leading and delivering procurements for our stakeholders Providing robust governance of business cases and commercial approvals Delivery of work aligned to the new Procurement Act Maintenance of workplans and pipelines for significant projects

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will join our team to work as the subject matter expert in procurement and governance with our stakeholders to deliver high quality procurements, in line with governance and legal duties.

The aim of the Commercial Delivery & Governance function is to provide, develop and continually enhance the commercial offering, delivering value for money and strategic improvement of the overall operation of the category.

Educated to master's level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area. MCIPS accreditation or IACCM Expert Status or evidence of equivalent level of experience.
