Main duties of the job
The Trust are pleased to offer a comprehensive Customer Service Practitioner (Level 2) Apprenticeship Programme. This is a structured programme of study of between 15-18 months (length dependent upon contracted hours) that consists of the following:
o Regular study sessions to deliver the relevant Level 2 knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve the apprenticeship qualification
o A college and UHDB induction programme to provide an insight and development into the skills needed to undertake your new role.
o Relevant UHDB mandatory training including Information Governance and Risk Awareness.
o A supported work placement alongside experienced UHDB staff
o Regular study sessions, support and guidance to develop colleagues who share our core values and objectives at the Trust
As an apprentice, you will be working under the supervision of a dedicated member of staff, providing administrative support within ourClinical Engineering department. The Clinical Engineering department provides a comprehensive maintenance service for the broad range of medical devices used within the clinical areas in the trust.
The department consists of a specialist team who are engaged in overseeing all aspects of medical equipment management. This spans from device trials, commissioning new devices, installation through to maintenance and eventual disposal.

Job responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to..
Undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post and parcels, etc.
Direct contact with service users, internal departments and external companies at reception/ by telephone and email.
Develop and maintain administrative support systems, including manual and electronic filing systems, ensuring that systems are effective in their use and review regularly.
Record and securely store information relating to confidential matters and enquiries.
Assist to arrange and administer meetings / events, including booking venues, the preparation and distribution of training resources.
Work on various software applications including the trusts medical device database, the trust ordering system, Health & safety software and staff training systems.
Through completion of this apprenticeship you will gain comprehensive training in the role of an administrator whilst obtaining valuable work experience; this will underpin your competency in the work place and develop a wide range of transferable customer service skills.
