Are you ready to join the UK’s biggest Hip Hop & RnB brand?
We’re looking for an experienced producer who is passionate about crafting engaging and entertaining music radio that embodies the world and culture of Capital XTRA.

You’ll be producing content for radio shows on the UK’s biggest Hip Hop & RnB brand. As part of a diverse team, you’ll connect with the brand at its core and unlock endless opportunities to grow and shine.
You’ll be coordinating and delivering industry-leading content for on-air shows, playing a key role in crafting Capital XTRA’s output with music news, topical talking points, a sense of the day, and the flow of content and music across daytime radio.
You’ll be producing captivating interviews with some of the world’s biggest stars including homegrown talent, launching engaging content, and creating PR-worthy moments to enhance our brand’s presence and impact on multiple platforms, including our industry leading app, Global Player
Measures of success –
In the first few months, you would have:
Built positive relationships and trust with presenters and the wider Capital XTRA broadcast and content team.
Worked on various shows across the station, maintaining a deep understanding of the culture to ensure each day is unique and engaging
Delivered engaging content, show features, and interviews.
Contributed creative ideas during planning sessions for key moments in Capital XTRA’s calendar.
Collaborated with presenters, as well as digital and programming teams, to research, prepare, edit, and broadcast in-studio interviews for both on-air and Global Player.
Developed a strong collaborative relationship with Capital XTRA’s digital team, driving forward our digital content strategy, including our industry leading app, Global Player
Responsibilities of the role
Planning, crafting, and delivering engaging and entertaining music radio content that resonates with the world and culture of Capital XTRA, while ensuring a seamless flow of music, news, topical talking points, and a sense of day and music passion to a target audience of 15-34.
Handling the live studio environment for some of Capital XTRA’s leading music shows.
Produce, collate, and distribute all relevant scripts and show planning documents.
Mentoring, guiding, and providing feedback to the presenting team during and after live shows.
Developing and implementing show features, interviews, and topical subjects for your shows.
Being responsible for planning, crafting, and delivering world-class content for on air and Global Player.
Producing, recording, and editing guest interviews for playout and on-air, along with briefing for video edits and social assets.
Working with the Branded Content Team to devise and execute dynamic & high impact on-air campaigns/competitions.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
An excellent grasp of music radio, including the latest from top artists, our radio programs, and lifestyle, music, and entertainment news within the culture of Capital XTRA.
A deep passion for the music and extensive knowledge of all genres in Capital XTRA’s playlist, including Hip Hop, RnB, Reggae, UK Rap, and Afrobeats.
Confidence in using workflows and following production processes necessary to complete tasks.
The ability to manage strong personalities and handle the pressure of working with some of the industry’s top talent.
Pride in creativity, with a wealth of ideas and the ability to inspire others.
The capability to bring out the best in Capital XTRA’s presenter talent, including both well-established personalities and forward-thinking emerging talent who need strong guidance.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with management, presenters, teammates, record labels, and artist teams.
Attention to detail to ensure consistently high-quality work.
Knowledge of commercial radio practices.
Knowledge of UK media law.
Experience with Zetta and G Selector is an advantage but not essential.
Confidence in working towards personal objectives while also helping others achieve business goals, setting, and stretching new standards.
On top of that, you’ll be someone who understands how to use digital platforms and build digital content to grow reach and help deliver subscribers for Global Player.
