Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated individual eager to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

GSL Education Lincoln is currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a highly supportive and forward-thinking school in Boston. We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and patient individual who will provide essential support to students with special educational needs.

The role involves working closely with the teaching staff and SENCo to ensure that all pupils receive the help they need to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for assisting students with their day-to-day activities, helping them with their learning, and providing tailored support based on individual needs. This role can be both part-time or full-time, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

Job Summary: The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support young learners in both one-to-one and small-group settings, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCo.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils during transitions between activities or lessons.

Qualifications and Skills for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of SEN and learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate students.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
