Band Knife Operators

The Recruitment Co are looking for Band Knife Operators, or those with the potential to learn, to join our customer located in Billingborough. They specialise in the manufacturing of quality cushion products for the furniture industry.
This is a temporary to permanent position with a 3-week trial and a further 9 week's working for us, after which you will be given a direct contract.
Band Knife Operators are responsible for using band knives to cut foam blocks into cushions. There is potential for further training on CNC automated band knives, which could lead to a pay increase.
Responsibilities:
As a Band Knife Operator, your main duties will include:
- Operating a band knife to cut foam blocks into cushion shapes.
- Maintaining precision and accuracy in cuts.
- Following safety guidelines while handling equipment.
- Assisting in other production tasks if required.
This position requires focus, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality results.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential skills:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with or willingness to learn machine operation.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cuts.
Other:
- Own transport required.
- Overtime may be required at short notice during busy periods.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential.
Shift Information:
- Monday to Thursday - 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Friday - 7:30 am to 1:00 pm
- From January6th, 2025, a permanent 4-day week will be introduced:
- Monday to Thursday - 7:00 am to 4:30 pm (36 hours/week).
Pay Rate:
- Current: £11.60 per hour, overtime at £14.60 per hour after 37.5 hours.
- From January 6th, 2025: £12.08 per hour for 36 hours/week.
