Our Occupational Therapy Practitioners understand this deeply, dedicating significant time to ensure a holistic, individual approach for each person we support. You’ll be integral providing meaningful therapeutic interventions, whilst meeting their sensory, functional, and vocational needs.
You will collaborate closely with our clinical teams to implement and adapt support programmes. Strong IT skills are essential, as accurate case notes and regular reporting are critical for success in this role. This role is based between Brecon and Presteigne and involves providing support across several schools in the area.
A Day in the Life of an Occupational Therapy Practitioner at Orbis Education and Care Involves:
- Collaborative Therapy Implementation: Working with Occupational Therapists to follow and adjust complex therapy activities tailored for the young people we support.
- Programme Adaptation: Identifying and suggesting opportunities to modify therapy programmes in collaboration with the wider team.
- Relationship Building: Establishing strong connections with supported individuals, their families, and the wider Orbis care team.
- Reporting: Creating detailed reports to monitor and document all support provided informing possible interventions, for the young people.
- Experience: Previous experience supporting people with autism.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to problem solve and provide outcome focussed interventions
- Technical Skills: Proficient in IT for maintaining case notes and generating reports.
- Driving: Ability to drive is advantageous.
- Health plan - after probation
