Women's Recovery Coordinator

Newcastle Treatment & Recovery (NTaR) is multi agency team delivering drug and alcohol treatment for the residents of Newcastle. We pride ourselves on being safe, inventive, creative and have the needs of the community and service users at the heart of what we do.
About the role
We are currently recruiting a Womens Recovery Coordinator to join our team at Newcastle Treatment & Recovery. Our team provides support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. As part of the role, you will be working with women who are involved in the Criminal Justice System as well as women who access the service from all backgrounds. The role will ensure that we are able to provide specialist, tailored support to enable female service users to make positive changes to their lives, whilst combining our knowledge and resources to support the engagement of females with a range of needs, within our communities.
Working collaboratively alongside external agencies including Probation, Prison and Court colleagues you will
- Engage in outreach work to assertively engage and support female service users who require additional intensive support to engage with treatment services.
- Offer tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour and, if required, support those into service should they need more substantial support.
- Work with external agencies to improve pathways into treatment for female service users.
- Identify and prevent potential harm to service users and others by following local and organisational safeguarding guidelines, including referral to and engagement with relevant safeguarding authorities.
- Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work / psychosocial interventions that meet local need.
- Support delivery of key service functions through actively participating in drug screening, duty work, access to BBV testing and immunisation service provision, prescription management, community needle exchange services and the ongoing delivery of appropriate, tailored alcohol and drug harm reduction interventions.
- Take a whole person holistic approach, ensuring that every service users package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.
- Promote visible recovery across the service and ensure peer support opportunities are relevant and accessible for all service users.

The salary advertised above demonstrates the full earning potential for this role, starting salaries will allow for pay progression within the pay band
