Ward Welcome Desk Volunteer

Job Summary
As a vital and valued member of the Ward team, our Welcome Team Volunteers are the first members of the team a visitor meets when they arrive at the Hospice. So you will be responsible for ensuring that they experience a warm welcome.
You will also provide vital support to the Ward team by carrying out a variety of administrative tasks.
You will have a friendly, helpful manner and be confident using Microsoft packages.
What will I be doing?
Answering and transferring telephone calls in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner Using the electronic patient database system, EMIS Greeting new admissions to the Ward, this will include: Showing ambulance crews who are admitting patients, to their room Showing/explaining to loved ones the facilities available on the Ward Answering any questions, they may have Liaising with Funeral Directors Completing daily Ward tasks, these include: Scanning documents onto EMIS Putting information packs together Returning medical records Ensuring that the ward corridor is kept tidy and looks welcoming Keeping up to date with annual mandatory trainingWhen will I work?
The Ward Welcome desk is covered from 9am to 8pm, 7 days a week.

Thursday evenings 5-8 pm
Friday morning 9 am-1 pm
Saturday evening 5-8 pm
Sunday morning 9 am-1 pm
