This community nursery was originally built as part of the village school and has a requirement for a Nursery Nurse for all age groups. Close to transport options and local shops, they champion a home-from-home feel and promote collaboration with their close-knit team.

The Nursery Nurse will be responsible for creating an environment in which children’s individual needs are met and for supporting the team in ensuring that high quality childcare is provided to all. This is a full time 40 hour per week role.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in partnership with parent and carers, catering for all children’s individual needs; observing, planning and evaluating development activities; keeping accurate records and maintaining regular contact and communication with parents
  • Support the Room Leader to ensure that all nursery initiatives are fully embedded into the room, following and implementing the EYFS at all times
  • The Nursery Nurse will respond to parent queries or requests, seeking help or signposting parents to the correct person within the nursery as appropriate
  • To take good care and responsibility for equipment and furniture in the room, ensuring that any issues are flagged appropriately
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience of working in a day nursery
  • Relevant Early Years qualification – Level 3
  • Understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding and paediatric first aid
  • Valid DBS check
