You will support the Chief Pharmacistand Associate Chief Pharmacist in leading the provision, management andstrategic development of high quality, innovative and effective clinicalpharmacy service within Urgent and Emergency Care and Critical Care areas inline with objectives and resources will co-ordinate the work of the Directorate Lead and Advanced PractitionerPharmacists within their Divisions ensuring the effective delivery of theClinical Pharmacy service, governance and safety, patient care, financial andhealth economy wide objectives.

You will be responsible to the Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Servicesfor the provision of expert advice in clinical pharmacy service delivery to theDivisional Directors, Clinical Directors, CG Leads and Divisional FinanceManagers.

Main duties of the job

As Divisional Lead Pharmacist for Urgent andEmergency Care and Critical care, you will be responsible for the provision ofa high-quality patient focused clinical pharmacy serviceto Front of Houseareas, Emergency Department and Critical care areas throughout the will work with Divisional Lead Pharmacist colleagues to furtherdevelop and lead the well respected and established Clinical Pharmacy Serviceensuring consistent Trust wide delivery in line with the Trust's ClinicalGovernance agenda.

You will have evidence of significant experience as a seniorhospital pharmacist within the NHS, with experience of strategically developingpharmacy services and delivering transformational change. You will demonstrateexperience of successful management of large groups of staff, evidence ofleadership skills, business planning, service innovation, critical thinking andsuccessful change. You will be responsible for ensuring within the Directoratesthe team are identifying new developments and horizon scanning to assistdivisions in service planning along with delivering efficiency savings and costimprovement plans across your sphere of responsibility.

You will have a post-graduate qualification to diploma level and well-developedclinical pharmacy skills preferably with an independent prescribingqualification.

The service operates a seven day Clinical Pharmacy Service with routine supportof both junior pharmacists and integrated medicines management technicians.

Job responsibilities

The Divisional Lead supports the Chief Pharmacist and Associate Chief Pharmacists in leading the provision, management and strategic development of high quality, innovative and effective clinical pharmacy services within a Clinical Division in line with the objectives and resources agreed. They will co-ordinate the work of the Directorate Lead and Advanced Practitioner pharmacists within their Divisional ensuring the meet the pharmacy service delivery, governance and safety, patient care, financial and health economy wide objectives.The postholder may be required to cover more than one Division, undertake a lead role in relation to Pharmaceutical Education and/or undertake the Directorate CG Role. Responsibilities can be adjusted in line with the postholders contracted hours with thesupport of other pharmacists or through provision of a direct patient care role.

Qualifications

Essential

MPharm [Masters degree] or equivalent Batchelors degree Registered Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council Post graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy

Desirable

Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Research Qualification Independent prescribing qualification

Experience

Significant experience as a senior hospital pharmacist within the NHS Experience of strategically developing clinical pharmacy services Experience of successful management of large groups of staff Experience of business planning Experience of writing and managing service level agreements Experience of published work Experience of interagency working
