IT Service Owner

We're currently recruiting for a Service Owner to support our Kier Transportation business stream. This role will have responsibility for managing several business specific IT services for the Transportation business stream across their full lifecycle – from inception through to growth, maturity and decline, in a fully outsourced, multi-vendor environment.

 

Location: Flexible on location, with hybrid travel to fulfil the role

Contract: Permanent, full-time and able to consider part-time working

 

Responsibilities

 

As a Service Owner, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Ensuring the business focused IT services deliver the business outcome and value represented in the service portfolio/catalogue.
  • Managing, tracking and controlling service costs and holding regular service reviews to present and communicate performance, plans and progress to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Benchmarking services to ensure they are competitive with market alternatives, and to inform sourcing strategy and improvement requirements.
  • Working with Heads of IT and Architecture to proactively evolve services to meet changing needs of the customer base.
  • Ensuring that any service issues are resolved, and business needs are satisfied.

 

 What are we looking for?

 

This role of Service Owner is great for you if you have:

 

  • Previous background in owning and delivering IT services, ideally within the Transportation industry.
  • Good stakeholder management abilities, able to work collaboratively with other Service Owners, IT Teams and Service Delivery, appreciating that unity and standardisation across the enterprise are just as important as fulfilling business stream specific IT needs.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an integrated service environment within a large organisation, ideally operating in a multi-vendor landscape.
  • An ability to understand and anticipate the needs and requirements of IT service consumers to ensure that service contributes to business outcomes.
  • An ability to budget, track and allocate costs to align spending with strategic objectives and improve cost transparency for Heads of IT.
